Location: Anjali House, Salakamreuk Road, Siem Reap.
Website: www.anjali-house.com
Who and What: Anjali House aims to provide each child with free healthcare, food, clean drinking water and education. We believe that all children have the right to enjoy their childhood - to learn, play, make friends and grow in a safe and happy environment. These are basic rights that no child should be denied. Families are provided with food support, micro loans and subsidized health care so that they do not need to send their children to work
The Experience: For people looking to offer their skills, Anjali accepts long and short term volunteers. Donations are greatly appreciated and it is possible to sponsor a child. Although not a “drop in centre” for visitors, Hanuman can arrange a visit to the centre for those wishing to support the project. A member of staff can give a non-disruptive tour of the centre and explain their great work |

From Hanuman
While addressing all forms of learning, Anjali focuses on nurturing a child’s creativity. The arts are increasingly recognized as a way to improve cognitive learning and to build self esteem among disenfranchised children. Theatre, photography, creative writing and art are just some of the skills made available to the children here. A very worthwhile project especially suitable for those with a background or interest in the creative arts |
